Organic fruits and veggies actually contain more toxins than the 'regular' pesticide sprayed equivalents. It's on the order of thousands of times more toxic (which speaks more to the safety of the regular foods since organics are obv safe to eat as well).
??? source/explanation?
I haven't actually read the article in the OP, but I do think there are a lot of terrible products out there (both organic and synthetic). In the end, I will always choose organic/natural, though just looking at the front label won't tell you shit. I'm pretty good at discerning legitimate 'green' products from ones that are claiming to be good because it's trendy. Of course for food, local is the way to go.
To those that say there is no difference: sometimes there isn't, but if you get a legitimately organic item (preferably grown by a smaller family farmer) the flavour and juiciness, not to mention the nutritional value is amazingly high. After eating these foods for a long time, I can't understand when people enjoy conventional food; it's just so tasteless and textureless (a.k.a rock fucking hard).
