woman beats up man in vale tudo

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xMIGSq7NoPo this is a fight from rio heroes, a bare knuckle vale tudo event in brazil. the woman's standup is pretty good and her ground game is an excellent example of classic vale tudo ground fighting. from what it looks like, it seems like the man decided not to throw punches from standing (he tries to from the ground). but, judging from his lack of take down defense and ground game, i think the outcome would have been the same even if he threw punches. he pretty much got taken down at will and got his guard passed and got mounted easily. anyways, nothing ground-breaking. just an example of what some realistic training can do for a little person.

wow that is impressive. she's pretty tough to take the kicks and blows herself and keep going as well.

I kept thinking why she didn't attack the arm, then I figured he would be too strong for that. Then she took the arm and it was over. Nice!

against a strong opponent, sometimes you have to wear them down before taking the arm. we call it "cooking" your opponent.

Wow, I had to look up like three terms from the OP.

I don't know why, but I keep getting the impression that the guy didn't try hard. Or at all. He didn't put his hands up when they were on their feet.

There was a point in the video when she mounted him and was pounding his face in, and all it took for the guy to reverse the roles and get into her guard was a simple push of her face...

The woman is tough, I'm sure. I'd be running in the other direction.

He Wasn't Giving Any Energy, He Was Just Doing Moves!

The man definitely could have used Rampage's instructional video on how to powerbomb an opponent who has you caught in a submission.

That was awesome! She passed his gaurd very easily... but I wonder if standing strikes against women is allowed in that league... Probably not, right?

anything is allowed in that league, but it's up to the competitor to decide what they will do or not. i think he wanted to win in style, but paid for it... after looking at the fight again, there was no guard to pass. he didn't even try for half-guard when he had the opportunity. he had the perfect position to get a butterfly guard on her and work a sweep, but of course, this was beyond his capabilities. you can tell when someone doesn't know what they're doing when they go for a headlock from bottom side control.

You're right. He didn't know what he was doing. Training and talent wins out over testosterone and overconfidence.
