Interest check: Canali suede shoes

Sorry, guys, this is gone. If anyone is interested, I can get some Canali suede captoe brogues in a variety of sizes. Medium brown (not too dark, not too light) with a Vibram* sole. The insole (half) is purple. Very cool. They seem to run a half size large. I wear a 9 in Ralph Lauren Polo C&J shoes, but an 8.5 in these. *I had remembered it as Dainite, but it is Vibram.

Always looking out for the brotherhood! Makes one want to buy from you.

I think you mean these run a half size large. (8.5 in these, 9 in polo - this is also the case in my experience with Canali shoes)

I'd be interested in seeing some pics, if possible.

The ones I received a few months back were a whole size too large. (EU42 = 10US)

Ah, you are correct. It's been fixed. I'm going to see if I can swing by and pick up my pair today and will try to get pics by tomorrow.

I wear a 9 or 9.5 depending on the last, so that seems to be reasonable. I don't know what it is with converting from Italian to American sizes, but some just seem way off.

Can you get any other styles of the Canali shoes? I had my eye on the antiqued brogues in a 43.

Yes. There's a dark suede captoe with an elongated toe (and no broguing). Also a wingtip with an elongated toe and dark antiquing to the toe, which frankly I didn't like. There's also a light suede chukka. May be more styles as well, but the suede brogue was the nicest, in my opinion.

Chorse, the ones you don't like are the ones I want. I dig those. I guess one man's ceiling is another man's floor, or something like that.

How much would they be and what's the retail?

I'll check for you. I liked them enough to try them on, which is saying something. Price would probably be the same as the suedes.

I don't know what the retail on Canali is in the US, but in Canada (where prices are inflated) I have seen them ranging from $575-845 (these can usually be found on pretty nice discounts, since everyone here buys only gucci/prada/ferragamo...) I got a pair of the higher class (goodyear welted) for ~285 and they are one of my favourite shoes, so imo $325 is a pretty good deal if it's a style you like. Construction is good, but some of the leathers are plasticky in my experience - I don't know why or if this is such a bad thing but I really don't like it.

chorse, any pics?

Some of the leathers did look on the plasticy side, but I wasn't interested in those. I will post pictures of the pair I bought in an hour or so. They are really just fantastic looking shoes. I have them in a size 8.5 and can get 8 and 9 as well. Larger or smaller may be difficult, but I can try.

Hot damn these shoes are nice! Color is pretty accurate in the first pic. Last pic is good for brogue detail, but the color is way off.

Just bumping this up in case anyone is interested. I may end up not keeping this pair, so will sell them if you want them. They are beautiful shoes, but I'm not sure they sing to me.

Okay, so these are going back unless anyone wants them. Great shoes, but my moolah is better spent on other items right now.
