I just learned about the EEE yesterday and I'm thinking of purchasing one when I upgrade from my current laptop (it's really a portable PC).

Probably will happen when Starcraft2 comes out and I purchase a new PC.

I'm waiting for the 8G Eee, too, and I'm very curious to see the Macbook Nano, or whatever it's going to be called, that's supposed to be introduced at Macworld next month. I doubt you can play Starcraft on the Eee, though.

starcraft 1 should play just fine on an EEE, I play it on my Fujitsu B2630 and its got lower specs than an EEE (256mb ram, 900mhz P3 processor, but a 60gb 7200rpm HDD).

the EEE would be for work and my new desktop (PC) would be for Starcraft 2 :P

The drivers are a massive problem in Vista (my dad hap to keep an XP box to run a multi-thousand dollar plotter), and even MS gets gunshy talking about sales of Vista compared to XP in new machines.

What will happen?

Microsoft will stop selling XP in 6 months to a year. Vista will be the number 1 seller and that will be it. Apple will need years to catch-up or will need a category-killer of some type of integrated home entertainment system.
