Some ideas so far are:

A music box
A locket

Any other ideas?

Matryoshka doll?

I once bought a small music box for a girl that I liked. It played the theme from Ice Castles, one of her favorite songs. I also filled it up with dried baby rose buds. Corny, but hey I was young.

Yes it worked.

I was just about to suggest this. You really can't go wrong with Tiffany's. I believe they also make keepsake boxes. Edit: Yep, I was right. Go to Tiffany, Gifts&Occasions, All Gifts for Home, in the Types drop down box select Boxes. There are 5 pages worth of results.

Many thanks! I think that this http://http://www.tiffany.com/Catalogues/BrowseItem.aspx?pc_id=431859&pc_item=01E&page_no=1&search_params=t+-s+5-p+2-c+-r+-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0, as countdemoney suggested, is perfect! I am going to go pick one up this evening. As always, it never ceases to amaze me how valuable this forum is to me. True appreciation!

Just a quick follow up. I went with the charm shaped as a Tiffany's box. The recipient was very pleased.

Many thanks for the suggestions!
