Has anyone been to Totoraku - "Secret LA Teriyaki House"

Non-descript building, catty-corner from a McDonald's. Someone described it as a Urasawa Jr.

It's only one seating per night, five tables, invite or referral only. Has anyone dined there? I'd love a referal if possible.

Thanks.

Yes. Call them and tell them Bruce sent you and you would like a reservation.

One of two things might hapen.

1. They ask you "who the hell is Bruce?" In Japansee of course.
2. They laugh (Japanese laugh) and hang up the phone.

Give it a try, you'll enjoy the food.

Well I went, and it was great. I didn't use Bruce's reference because, well, I didn't know if he was serious.

So how'd you get in? Thoughts on the experience?

Exactly like you'd imagine. I found someone who knew someone. I thought it was great. Though "exclusive" as the whole process is beforehand, once you are in, they are the nicest people. It was really good.
