Savile Row bespoke 3 piece 42s(approx) vintage suit

This suit was made by Hicks and Sons in February 1974. Hicks and Sons was located at 9. Savile Row, England. While they were one of the lesser known shops on the Row, I did a little bit of research and discovered they are still around in different name after being acquired by another shop.

This is a pretty awesome suit, heavy weight and ready for winter. While it is 33 years old, it does NOT look dated. There is no noticeable wear on the exterior of this suit, the fabric is heavy and feels bullet proof (feels like a heavy wool). The only problem spots are there is a small (assumed) coffee stain on the interior lining of the vest, and a small tear in the jacket lining. Everything else is great.

This is a single breasted, 3 button, 3 piece suit. The plants are flat front, with 2" cuffs, vertical side pockets on the hems and a watch pocket (?) on the front, and 2 buttoning rear pockets.

The pocket flap picture is the most accurate colorwise. This is a dark gray suit.

S-s - 18"
Pit to pit" - 21"
At the waist - 20"
Shoulder seam to cuff - 24"
Bottom of collar to hem - 30

Pants - 38" waist
Inseam 28"
Rise - 12 1/2"
Cuffs 2"

I will take offers on this, as it is a strange size so I will be willing to make a deal. THanks!

Thanks. After doing some research, I think I'm going to just throw this up on ebay. I shall update this thread with a link to the auction tomorrow. Hopefully this magnificent piece of craftsmanship finds a new home.

This is probably true. I'm not an expert on suit sizing, that's for sure.
