Stupid s*** my roommate says - Page 25

My law school roommates my first indication that the evolution of the Eloi has begun. There were both from Miami, yet when a frog got in our house they began screaming like girls and made me catch it and put it outside - and for this I was a "badass". Another time one came running back inside after he saw a raccoon. And it's not as if we lived in the Everglades or on the set of that movie Frogs, we lived in St. Petersburg, in a metro area of about 2.5 million.
My next roommate was great though. He was jewish and so around Easter we'd tease each other mercilessly. Him - comments in the vein of "I killed your savior AND whipped your ass in Madden" Me - "First you kill the Son of God, then you don't take out the trash?" It was hilarious.
Roommates are cool sometimes, but I'm glad I live alone now.

My co-worker says a lot of stupid things. For instance during the election he mentioned PR being a state and I tried to explain to him the concept of territories. Once I had done that he said something to the tune of, "like Hawaii." So then I had to explain to him that Hawaii is a state and has been for several decades. He doesn't really talk to us most of the time, it is more of at us. I will be reading a book and he will just start talking at me about some trivial shit like the poker game on his phone, or stuff he wants to get for/because of his dog (like a leather jacket, another dog [well he just wanted another dog so that he could spite his neighbor for calling the cops on him about his dog {he still claims his dog is harmless, even though it attacked his friend without reason.}])

He brought in a massive wholesale catalog and flipped through every page and asked me on each one, see anything you like (all the while I wasn't looking nor paying much attention, just saying no.) He once tried to sell me a basketball, football, and an under-the-seat car kit that he all had boxed up in his car. I really don't know how to put into words how dumb and annoying this guy is. Sadly he has a kid in his custody.

I have a annoying co-worker that is in the office across the hall from me. He is the loudest, grossest and most annoying human being on the entire planet. Words can not describe how bad he is. Whenever I see or hear him, even if he's doing nothing wrong, I am filled with so much rage I want to strangle him. He is the only person I've ever felt this way about. He's a 24 year old PhD, short, bald and fat. He can't dress to save his life. Every time he coughs or clears his throat he feels the need to make a sound. Usually a OOOOOUIIIIOOOOUUUIIIIOOOOUUUIIIIII-like sound. This happens many times during a day, god help me when he has a cold. He also sucks on his lip all day... and I can hear it in my office! I drew the line on that one and told him to cut that out because it was completely disgusting to me, but every once in awhile he does it and I have to throw a pen at him. He also whined and bitched about not getting as big of a bonus as the rest of us, despite the fact that he started with less than 3 months to go in the election and he works under all of us. My boss gave it to him anyway! I wish I could fire him.

He's his own worst enemy, eventually he'll do himself in. My boss doesn't like him either. The only reason he's still there is because the holidays are coming up and my boss doesn't want to lay him off now. After the inauguration it's going to happen.

I currently have a housemate because I travel a lot and, well, I had a dog. And I needed someone to take care of the dog when I was away. But then the dog up and died. And the housemate is still here . . .

If he wants to learn how to stalk somebody and then tattle on them for surfing the web, I'm pretty sure another SFer could show him the ropes.

Honestly roomate situation stories happen no matter what college you go to not just at Fashion Schools...talk to your RA about your issues. Talking to people who have been at a certain campus or not shouldn't be what determines your decisions especially if you are really interested in being where you are. Talk to an advisor if you have too! Maybe they can help you pick out another situation for you or help you connect with someone who can help you pick out a housing location that suits you....I had that roomate situation in the first college I attended but it only lasted for so long when I spoke up about it...then I went to FIDM and was lucky enough to have a great roomate my first year. After that I was able to save some money and share an apartment with a friend of mine really near campus. Housing opportunities are available at any campus if you do your research! You can do student housing for some and then move. Honestly, I really enjoyed the diversity at FIDM in my opinion and you will meet people with that same type of diversity at any college. I appreciate the fact that some people had their eccentricities but that's what makes creativity great!!!! That's what makes you an individual!
