+1. As annoying as he could be sometimes, some of the stuff BG came up with was funny as hell. Anyway, I guess I'm glad I wasn't around for his sale and I feel for those who lost out. If I was the praying type, BG would be in them. I hope things turn for the better for him.

He would sporadically send out an item but most people never received their order and he stopped responding to emails.

There was a coordinated effort by about 100 people to figure out where this guy lived. After a couple of weeks of digging, they came up with address. Two of the guys drove to the local police department and explained what was going on. About a week later the guy was arrested in his apartment and eventually sent to jail.

It was a big thing back then...people from all over the country working together to discover his address and eventually have him jailed. I believe it was written up in a couple of newspapers.

On the BG issue, having lost money to other rapscallions, the obvious advice is to move on. Its annoying and frustrating but the reality is that we've all saved a lot of money with internet transactions and I look at it as part of the price of doing business over the internet.

Check out Liquidation Universe, a few years ago this same scheme for computers and he finally got caught for his ebay store and it was something like a few million dollars in theft.
