Bergdorf Goodwill's status

Thread Starter
Has anyone on SF had contact with Bergdorf Goodwill? He hasn't posted on here in a couple of weeks and isn't returning PMs. His last messages made it sound like he was getting back on his feet, and my understanding was he planned on finally mailing out the items he owes people. I have been waiting for some ties since mid-July and still haven't gotten them. I empathize with his situation, but this is getting beyond ridiculous.

I fear that he is with Luca Brasi

I hear that he hired Audrey to handle his customer service so your ties will be shipped shortly.

The guy's obviously having problems.

Why have you waited so long to file a complaint?

I wish him well, and Chuck F. too.

But business is business, and there is no excuse.

I don't understand why a seller wouldn't just refund money back to his customers if he knows he couldn't ship out is wares. How hard can it be?

I bought a mirror for my truck a little earlier, it showed up this week right after I filed a complaint. I figured I'd give it another couple of days for some (now inexplicable reason).

i dont think so,

because if the actual Luca Brasi , or, a 'Luca Brasi' by committee
went to see him, we all would have gotten our stuff already.

or we would have been mailed back a fish.

++ I never understand how this happens, spending other people's money or whatever the hell is going on. No amount of weasely excuses can negate that.

Wow, not cool.

But mid-July? AFAIK not only are you far beyond Paypal's dispute time frame, you are also beyond most credit cards' chargeback time frame (3 months).

Wow. Do I smell another CF style bonanza?

Uhh this is the same BG who posted about living out of his car, right? I couldn't imagine being in the same situation that he is in, so I'd say give him some time. I can say that I bought some ties from him before and he was really cool about it and shipped them to me pretty quickly, so I think even if it takes awhile, you'll get what you paid for. It just might take some pestering.

I'm afraid I have to agree. Sympathy with a person's situation is one thing, but there is absolutely no way months should pass without finishing a transaction when the "refund" button is so easy to push. Assuming the items actually exist, how could something take months to ship? I'll never understand how that can happen, "getting back on your feet" or not. Being in a tough situation doesn't absolve you of your comittments/responsibilities.

As such, I would go ahead and file the paypal complaint if the $$$ amount were high enough ; three months of waiting is beyond patience. If the amount were low, however, I'd just write it off and hope that BG used the money to help himself get back on his feet.
