Jacket Too Long?

I figured I'd post this here rather it getting lost in another big thread.

I purchased this Barbera Sartoriale 3-2 jacket some time ago from the board. It's a beautiful fabric, quarter lined, wool/silk/linen blend and fits very comfortably (shoulders, chest both fit well). I've only worn it a few times mostly, I think, because I find it a bit too long. As you can see by the pics, if I hold my hands down by my side, the only part of the thumb that falls below the bottom of the jacket is half of the thumb nail. I'm guessing the jacket is a couple inches or so too long. The length measures 30.5". I think if I had an inch taken off it would be ideal but not sure what that would do to the pockets stance, balance, etc.

My question is, if that's the case, is this something that can be fixed? If so, can most competent tailors do it or should I lean on a top notch tailor?

Or, am I making a big deal out of 1-1.5"?

Thanks in advance.

We really need a clear head to toe shot to make any determination on length.

What shirt length do you take? To put it another way, do you have tiny T-Rex arms?

Looking at the check pattern towards the hem on the front quarters then any shortening is going to leave you with an unpleasant visual effect.

Personally I'd rather have an inch too long than an inch too short in most situations.

I'm a 40R and my shirt length is 34.5".

Here are more full length pics.

I would leave it alone. It looks fine.

My take would be that that's a hair long, particularly as you move round towards the back, but that it's nowhere near enough to be a dealbreaker.

However it's your jacket and if you don't feel comfortable wearing it, or find that the added length makes it a bit too senior for you, then don't wear it. Flip it if the money is crucial, otherwise I'd suggest laying it down like a fine wine for when you reach the age when you can feel more appropriate in it.

In my opinion, the back of the jacket covers your seat and from the side the hem of the jacket hits right about mid-hand on you. I think it looks fine.

It is too long and also looks awful, such cloth is very dated - is it second hand?

As a suit jacket it would've been acceptable, now since it's a sport jacket its way to long. The patch pockets are placed to high and that's good, they can stay there in the moment you shorten the jacket.
