If you're a 40 short, you might want to check this one out...just saw it today, thought I'd pass the word. I recently posted photos of myself in a radcliff suit if you'd like to see the cut (what are you wearing today thread):

Very nice! Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part, or would you think that the chest and shoulder measurements would work for a 38 short?

Probably not. Shoulder might be ok but chest will be too big for you. I wear 38R. And the shoulder measurements from all my suits/sportcoats range from 17.5"-18.5" (all fit reasonably well). None of the chest measurements is beyond 41". IMO, extra 1-2" in chest is a lot.
