Nice area though. I try to get out that way most years.

I never spend much time looking around .We usually catch a nice storm cycle setting up, make the drive, crash in a cheapo motel in Sandy . Days at Alta or the bird bottle of wine and repeat

Hopefully not being redundant but Romney was the one who, in 2012, wanted to put a car elevator in the basement garage of his La Jolla house? and in 2008 McCain did not know how many houses he owned (six). Hillary released their 2015 return, the others are already released.

I personally don't care, but a guy running on the platform that the rich are too rich and we don't need so many deodorant options which is causing kids to starve to death probably shouldn't be owning three homes all $500k+.  Seems like people don't need three houses, and that money can better be spent saving the children.

I did the Sandy thing once years ago with some friends, but the last couple of years I've stayed at the Goldminer's Daughter at the base. My first year doing so we had one day the canyon road was closed due to avalanche danger; ended up having the entire mountain basically to myself with epic amounts of pow for the entire morning.

I used to spend some time in Park City about 20 years ago. Pretty area.

Could you imagine Romney using a line like that?  Well, my third home is smaller than the average American home...

I think his La Jolla place is on the market. It is rather small ... although isn't that the one with the car elevator? We may have to stop our Annual Thanksgiving Pee on Romney's Lawn. It started one year when out for a walk and nature called. By 2015 -- seven years later -- it was a regular event ... with 20+ participants.

I knew Mitt was into micro-tech but I had no idea.

I thought his other homes were on the cheaper side (and any longtime congressman will have a home in DC... Don't they even get a stipend for it?).

I feel like I remember someone doing a net worth calculation for all is the candidates and Bernie was super low. Made me less trusting of him actually... He has been earning a congressman's salary for most of his career and yet hardly has any savings? Yeah, he gets the pension, but still... Guy can't save money?

Why save money when you have guaranteed perpetual income? You may want to for whatever reason but you don't need to.

Bernie's wife has made good money. For years she was a senior partner in a political consulting firm, did several years as a college president and then get her salary and a reasonable severance payment. She also inherited some material wealth as it was a house from her inheritance they sold to fund this new one. Don't be surprised if reports of Bernie's worth are somewhat misrepresented in that I'm betting his wife is worth more than he is. Just selling a house and then having 600k to buy that new one tells me she's obviously worth more than Bernie's reported net worth around half a mil.

w/e their joint assets he absolutely killed Hillary in that one debate where she said she'd release her taxes if he released his, lol. What a fucking gift to hand him: the place went wild with giddy applause as he explained how he was among the poorest senators in the house and would happily release his taxes. She was really scrambling to get away from the unreleased transcript of her $250K Goldman Sachs speech and ended up "asking him to try on the glove" so to speak happy.gif

...I was disappointed the Bern later didn't mount that insurrection his loyalists were crying for, even in the face of his own party apparatchiks callously sabotaging his run frown.gif
