If you could have one and only one shell cordovan shoe,
what would it be and why?

Ooh. That's interesting. What color?

I was thinking I'd like a Venetian loafer, but my worry was that the wrinkling would be pronounced in such a plain design. Your answer seems to contradict this worry, no?

The only experience I have w/ shell cordovan, though, is handling them new in the store and reading about it in the forums.

With shell, the rippling is going to be fairly pronounced. That's one reason I like the blucher. There's no busy design -- just the shell itself. The waves become the focus, rather than a distraction. Clean, simple, and, to me, very appealing. .

I agree, plain toe blucher. My ideal one would be in Mahogany.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The wavyness makes the shoe.

Got a pic? Was that you who posted them when new?
