hey all

I've had wavy hair my entire life, then it started to thin out really badly, then my stylist prescribed something called Revitalize from American crew... it works a charm!

now, how do I get my hair straight? I've heard of relaxers? what do you guys suggest?

If your hair is thin it'll look a lot thinner if you go from wavy to straight...otherwise get a straightening iron

I'd ask your significant other or a close female friend to show you how to use a straightening iron. It'd probably be your best bet.

thanks! luckily with the new treatment, my hair looks and feels thicker... before my hair was thin and fraile... now it looks healthy and thick

I hope straightening out doesn't damage it...

You can get a straightening perm. Check at asian salons.

I saw one of these in NYC. It was a Japanese Hair Straitening Salon.

???

Why would the Japanese know anything about getting their hair straightened? I've very seldom seen any Asians with really curly hair.

You can get your hair straightened at any salon. Why does it have to be Asian?

A round brush and a hot hair dryer will straighten hair quite well (just use a soft hold gel to protect and help form the hair).

Or, to chemically straighten hair, all you would need to do is go to a salon and they can do it for you.

There is a couple of ways they can do this; they will comb a perm through your hair to straighten it (called a reverse perm), they can use products made to chemically straighten hair (Rusk, Paul Mitchell, and such) which are basically perms in fancy packaging to straighten hair, or they can use a relaxer (which you wouldn't need because your hair is fairly thin).

I would try the hair dryer first to make sure you like it and it looks good.
