Kitchen Nightmares - Page 2

Most of these businesses are doomed anyway. The fact that so many fail despite Gordon's help is not surprising.

Anyone see that SpikeTV is doing a Kitchen Nightmares-type show, but for bars? Love the concept, and the write-up sounded great, I just hope the execution is good.

i'm with you and it's an interesting comparison. in the early british versions, Ramsay was all about sound fundamentals ... clean kitchens, serving food people wanted, serving it expeditiously, serving it at a price point they were willing to pay. the american version was some weird, reality television/self-help/game-show freak. there was all kinds of hyped drama; "personal discovery" was the order of the day; and every episode he gave the people some extravagant gift "just for playing" ... a new kitchen line or somesuch bs. it got so appalling i can't even watch the british ones anymore.

GF recently got me into this. It's pretty good but I like the Hell's Kitchen one better. Unfortunately Nflix only streams Kitchen Nightmares.
