Interest Check: RLPL Dark Charcoal flannel with thin stripes suit 38S

Today I went to my local Marshall's and found they just came in 2 RLPL suits. I grabbed one for myself (39R) and fits like a glove. There is another one in size 38S. Price is $699.99 +tax (= $761.24). I can pick it up for someone if I can get a firm commitment. The suit is in Dark charcoal flannel with thin stripes. Stripes are about 1/4" apart. Made in Italy by Saint Andrews. I did not bring my tape with me. But I tried it on, and it is tight for me around the waist area (I normally wear 38R). The 39R fits me prefectly and I am going to keep it for myself. I will do this service only for US/Canada members this time. I forgot to check the material tag, but I think it is 100%wool based on my hand feel. By the way, mine is 100%wool.

Style: SB2B, dual side vents. 2 waist besom pockets and 1 chest welt pocket. Sleeves are unfinished and come with a full set of buttons. Pants are double pleated (?? - if my memory serves me right). 2 adjustable waistbands. Slim fit. Will fit someone size 37 nicely. Members with more experiences with RLPL please chime in about size/fit.

Guygs, let me tell you that: it is absolutely gorgeous.

Update: I got the suit. The color is very dark charcoal grey and very close to black. They are not exactly black when I compared this with one of my solid black wool overcoat. Stripes are greyish. 100% wool flannel. Tag size 38S.

Style: SB2B, dual side vents. 2 waist besom pockets, 1 ticket pocket, and 1 chest welt pocket. Sleeves are unfinished and come with a full set of buttons. Pants are double pleated. 2 adjustable waistbands. 2 side pockets along the seam line and 2 rear welted buttoned pockets. Pants are half lined. Skirted waistband construction. A "V" split at the center back of the waistband. Pants also come with a set of belt loops in case you prefer belt loops.

Measurements:
Jacket
Shoulder: 18" (Top of the shoulder straight across back seam to seam)
Chest: 40" (Measured under the arms x 2 while lying flat )
Length: 28.5" (Bottom of the collar to buttom of the jacket)
Sleeve: 23" (Top of the shoulder seam to the end of sleeve) Sleeves are basted but unfinished. 1" can be safely let out.
Waist: 37" (Mesured on the 1st button x 2 while lying flat)
Pants
Waist: 32" (~2" can safely be let out)
Inseam: Basted but unfinished. Total 37.5"
Front rise: 11"
Hem width@30" inseam: 9"
Knee width: 9.75"

Price: $850 shipped CONUS via USPS INSURED priority.

<- without flash

<- with flash, color is much lighter than its true color

<- perfect pattern match

I normally wear 38R (Isaia, Corneliani, Zegna...). But for RLPL, I found 39R fits me reasonably well. What do you think?

This is my first time too (finding RLPL suits at Marshall's). But I scored a NWT Brioni suit from the same store before for only $349

Anyway, I have had some positive responses here. So I will go get it if I have time tomorrow. Memebers who are interested will benefit significantly from the detailed measurements and pictures. The worst case for me is to return it if no one here buys it.

I love my new suit. I will take a few pictures tomorrow and let you guys help me decide whether I should keep it or not. If i get more vetos, then I may offer mine here as well. But I think the chance is small.

Stay tuned. Gentlemen.

I found the Norstrom Rack in Schaumburg is terrible. They do have big shoes/suits selection but all crappy brands. Going through such a big selection is very time consuming and 99% of the time were fruitless. Now I hardly walk in this store anymore.

Same with the Saks around the corner, and the filene's in that mall stinks. The filenes basically has Ralph Lauren Green Label and the Saks is running Armani in felt.

Sounds exactly like the San Francisco Rack. I've never seen such a depressing pile of shoes. I won't be going back.

Yeh, the filene's is BAD like Bob's junk yard. I have been inside the store twice. Such a disappointment, never went back again.

Is the Marshall's there worth a visit ?

The Marshalls around here has several Blue Label (made in Italy) suits and sports coats. I've also seen Purple Label ties and pocket squares for $30.

Maybe. They do have some Armani Collezioni suits priced at ridiculous $1,000. A quite few Hugo Boss suits for $400. (both are not something we love here). The only decent stuffs they have are some Hickey Freeman suits (about 10 in total) for $400/ea. And most of them are glen plaid and from HF mainline, but I don't know if they have your size or even you like HF or not. The ones that I have eyes on have not gone through their 1st round of price cut yet.

On their clearance rack, I do find a RL Polo tan corduroy suits. I like it a lot. Too bad, it is size 40.

Do you visit Saks and Needless markup in Oakbrook often? Occasionally I found some nice stuffs there. But I am usually too lazy to drive that far.
