That is silly and you should get over that view. Voting arguably has less of an impact on the individual level than participating in discourse.

Yes, as long as 'discourse' isn't just whining about everything, and not actually doing anything useful or productive

Whining is both useful and productive.

Is it idealistic? Yes, but so what? You're saying you want to be lazy, not vote, and then complain about the outcome? How dumb is that.

What does my vote matter in my area? In the past 6 years, I don't think I've been actually interested in a single candidate's positions. With that being said, I actually normally still vote because I want to vote on the referendums.

I suspect there is a George Carlin youtube video coming shortly.

By the time its all said and done, I'm going to convince all of you to vote for Ted Cruz.
I'll bet anyone a sawbuck that at least two people in this thread aren't convinced.

Neither side is going to present someone I want running the country this time but you have to make a choice between someone that is hawkish vs. someone that will raise my taxes. That makes it pretty simple who I'm going to support.

Yeah, good luck with that.

Lol. He's going to be long gone by the time my state even has a chance to vote.
Not that I would. Ever.

Taxes is really the deal breaker? JW, are you opposed to income, corporate, the loopholes, what is it? (Not trying to be argumentative, genuinely curious)

Pio would rather save a couple thousand dollars than people's lives.

I'm not opposed to taxation in the least I'm just opposed to stupid and irrational tax policy and doubly opposed to it when it impacts me.

It's not like I'm the one making the decisions. Your guy is murdering civilians with drones and you seem pretty fine with that as I've never once seen you directly state that's wrong. People join the armed forces knowing they might be put into harm's way, so while I feel bad for any lives lost, my culpability is so remote I'm not losing any sleep. Additionally, the last Clinton got us into some military actions we should have never been in, and I'm pretty sure Hillary is way more hawkish than Bill.

Cruz is the model republican for the media - they don't need to do any work. Just the cut of his jib gives them what they want.
