I had ginger beer for the first time the other day. It was from my local brewer(www.kbrewery.com). Wow!! It was out of this world. Do you guys like ginger beer? It was just the right amount of ginger in it.

It can be delicious or absolutely disgusting. I like it when I'm in the mood for it but I'm rarely in the mood for it.

Bundaberg Ginger Beer from QLD Australia. Stuff has bite, roar and a sugar rush you ride like a wave.

I thought a shandy was half lemonade, half beer.

Most commercially-available "ginger beer" is more or less 'ginger soda'. Real homemade ginger beer from the islands is a completely different animal. Each has its merits, though both are traditionally non-alcoholic. Your link's not working for me, but if this stuff has alcohol, it's a beast with which I am completely unfamiliar. EDIT: Ah, I was able to get on to the site. Seems this is ginger-flavored beer, not 'Ginger Beer' in the traditional sense. I'd be curious to try it.

When i was a kid ginger beer was sold in what i think were ~300ml glass bottles. They were very spicy. I really loved that stuff. I recently found some at a convenience store, but a different brand. It was ok. More spicy and more fizzy would have made it a better drink.

Albert's Real Jerk in Toronto has home made ginger beer, it is awesome, especially with an extra hot patty.

Awhile back I planned to make it but never got around to it.

The real stuff is made by fermenting ginger root and sugar to produce CO2 and lactic acid.

I am glad you posted about Bundaberg because I was about too. I think I'll go have some right now!

i never tried ginger beer, but i do like the Ginger Ale made with real ginger that they sell at Trader Joes. really good, but i can only stand one bottle for a month as it gets really rich and gingery.

Real ginger beer is great stuff -- will clear your sinuses too.

A brandy and ginger beer is a great pleasure.
