PuraKai (San Diego, California)

PuraKai is a nice little company out of San Diego that makes clothing from high-quality natural materials.

I got a couple of shirts from PuraKai and I'm very pleased with the quality. They are made in California from locally grown organic cotton which is super cool. They are extremely comfortable shirts too! Perfectly breathable for summer. I believe PuraKai uses Pima cotton.

The package:

Look at that sheen!

I got size M and usually do a 40'' chest and 35'' arms. I would say these fit true to size.

Anyway, here's the website: http://www.purakai.com/

They do mostly shirts, but also make some other stuff.

And let the thread begin! :D

Locally grown cotton... California.

Where is the water coming from? San Diego would not seem to be a natural environment to grow cotton

According to the website: "The organic cotton was grown in Helm, California."

Also, though California is extremely dry it has some rather amazing aqueducts: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_Aqueduct

PuraKai just started a new campaign on Kickstarter. They are making new shirts and beanies made from recycled plastic bottles.
