Sudden Vista crash, what the f***???

Like 2 minutes ago I was on facebook and suddenly, my screen goes white with little dashes on it...

This pisses me off because my Dell of 5 years started freezing completely (and needed to have the power source cut off to get it to shut down), and this brand new laptop just did that too... what is going on??

I've had that once on my XPS laptop. I think the answer is just that Vista kind of blows at this point. It works well enough for me that I'm not really interested in going back to XP, plus when it's not fucking up I really do like the OS.

One thing that I've considered trying (but have been to lazy to do thus far) is to see if there are new ForceWare drivers, because most of the problems I have seem to be associated with display errors or issues.

Does your PC have an nVidia card?

Well, you could try updating the card drivers then. If I ever get around to doing it I'll post my results.

I would see if it happened again before becoming concerned. As EA said, updating drives might be an easy fix. Also, Facebook me: http://wright.facebook.com/profile.php?id=39502820

I am SO glad I don't have Vista. I have heard so many problems that people are having that it seems like the Edsel for MS. Plus, I heard a long time ago that Vista is not backward compatible and that a lot of programs people had with XP will not work in Vista. Totally stupid! May be worse than the Edsel.
