Experience with Paul Frederick

Does anyone have experience with Paul Frederick sweaters? I'm looking at this sweater, in brown:

Paul Frederick Sweater

and the price sounds too low for any real quality. I'm interested in your thoughts.

Decent quality, boring styles, generous cuts -- that's Paul Frederick.

Are the sweaters any worse than say J.Crew quality for the merino? J.crew has gotten boring with the colors as of late and there are some nice ones there.

There's the catch. Style's not so much an issue - all I want is a brown v-neck - but slim-fitting is important to me.

What is Cashwool? Wool that feels like Cashmere? Sounds cheesy.

Sounds cheesy.

I believe it is a mix of Wool/Cashmere. Probably 90% wool 10% cashmere

From the PF Website: Cashwool® "¢A registered trademark for fine, 100% Merino wool. The yarn is woven to give a soft hand purported to be equal to cashmere. Silly though. The hand of decent merino is certainly as soft as cashmere. Not as fluffy soft but certainly silky soft.

I didn't even read the website. That is horrible marketing

If you ever make it to PA, they have GREAT sales at their warehouse. Usually about once every 2 or three months.

Cashwool sounds like its blue-collar-baller

PF is the equivalent of Banana Republic, except cheaper.

I would say that their quality is MUCH better than Banana Republic but BR's is much more stylish. And though I like their clothing, I never thought BR's clothing was very well put together.

Bumping up this thread.  Paul Frederick has a Living Social promotion today, which is $30 for one of their dress shirts.  They describe the shirt as an "oxford," but it appears to actually be a pinpoint shirt with a button-down collar.  With shipping, it would come to about $43.  I've got a closet full of shirts, but recently lost quite a bit of weight and am always looking for ways to add trim/slim fit shirts to my wardrobe without replacing my entire closet at full retail.

Can anybody comment on the quality?  I would imagine it's not on the level of J. Press or Brooks, but if it is noticeably better than Jos. A. Bank for the same price, it might be worth a shot.
