I think Zara's basics are more suitable for the not-so-casual-outfit. Take their longsleeves for example, compared to H&M's... much thinner fabric, and sewed differently, more to be worn with suit pants that with denim, I think But same is true for almost everything from Zara... outerwear too

Zara must have significantly different product lines in Germany. I own about 20-30 l/s button ups from Zara and none of them have thin fabric at all, certainly not when compared with H&M.

Quite amazing. Zara does have some quality peices. Their top of the line suits are 100% wool, have canvas inner layer, rolled lapels, horned buttons, functional sleeve buttons, and soft shoulder padding. And it just down right bloody cheap too. I can't imagine this kind of quality with H&M. In fact, most of H&M's clothes are just pure trash.

Sorry, I was referring to long sleeved t-shirts, not dress shirts But also here you have to compare. Recently I saw a black two-ply dresshirt at Zara (€50) and one at H&M (€40)... Ended up buying at H&M since Zara's was somehow odd at the collar

Zara is a half step up from H&M however with both its still like treading on miry ground... medium risk. But much better than British High Street brands ie Top Shop, FCUK... I like the Zara jeans, Jap Raw Denim without the scalping..

+1 on FCUK clothing. It is disgusting. They turned into overpriced GAP, in US at least.
