Me fucking too. I'm trying really had to wait until the end of November, at which time my contract expires. I'll celebrate by swiftly swinging a hammer to my shitty Razr.

My nokia 6236i has been fantastic. I'm heavily leaning towards just getting another one. Not great-looking, but very compact and user-friendly. It's lasted me over two years, after dropping it in the ocean early in its life (I'm pretty good at the hacking required for such a save, though). I've never had to replace the battery, and it still goes strong.

I owned on Motorola, and the thing sucked. I will never buy another.

Only downside to it is it's got small buttons, which is not good for those with larger or less dextrous fingers.

But Verizon's service is superior in terms of coverage and minimized dropped calls (I hate the company, but I don't think any of the others are better).

Good luck. Cell phone companies suck.

+1. My contract expired this month and as much as I "like" the RAZR, unless they improve the address book and battery life, I won't get another. Nokias may not be stylish, but they are workhorses. I regret my last one died or else I'd never have changed phones. Got seduced by the sexiness of RAZR.

Verizon offers at least three Blackberry models: 7130e, 8703e, 8830 World Edition.

I don't hate my Razr nearly as much as everyone else (form factor was a huge part of my choice), but come next March I won't own another one: I'll probably go with some flavor of smartphone and ditch my trusty Visor Edge (though I'm sure I'll miss the month's worth of battery life).

I too have the Razr from Verizon. The battery sucks and I had to get a replacement about a year after purchasing. I love Verizon's network. However when my contract expires, I'm seriously thinking about switching to T-mobile. I want unlocked phones where I can use SIM cards for my overseas travels.

After having gone through oodles of phones, plans, companies, and reams of paper on which to type snarly legal threats over improper cancellation fees, I tossed em all and bought a cheapy Samsung from Costco using T-Mobile pre-paid minutes. Not glamorous, but if I lose the phone, ha, who cares. No monthly minimums, no f*$king cancellation fees, no two year commitments that magically turn a "$100" phone into a $2000 utility bill.

Buy an unlocked GSM phone and become a "month to month" customer with a GSM carrier?

I agree and I agree. Verizon has the best coverage I can find but all cell phone companies, at their root, suck. So until something better comes along, I stick with Verizon.

To the OP, I have a Motorola Q and it is doing fine by me. My priorities were:

1) Phone first. Tried some out that had bad phones.
2) Sync with Outlook, it is what my organization uses as a platform.
3) Easy to text with.

It is the best smart phone for all three of those that I found plus is so very thin it just disappears in a suit jacket pocket.

If you can wait until November, they are coming out with a touch screen LG that looks like the ugly cousin of the Prada Phone. There is a story on men.style.com about it.

Wait for the new Samsung line to come out. The I760 should be nice.

The thing to remember about touch screens though, is that they can dial when you do not want them too. I know the iPhone is supposed to have the problem beat, but all the other ones I have tried do activate themselves, even if locked. That was another thing that settled me on the Q.

I just got the Treo 700p (Verizon) and I love it - its big and bulky but I have never had a phone with such incredible voice quality. This is the only phone I have had where I can say that the voice quality rivals a land line.

The bulk doesn't bother me so much - since I used to carry a Palm OS PDA, cell phone and Blackberry (for work) - so now I only carry two.

They're not flashy, but the cheap-ish Samsung phones on Verizon have always lasted me years. Samsung is pretty reliable in the cell market for great quality.

I have been very happy with my 7130e. Getting email on the phone is very valuable for my job. The web access is very slow but everyone I know has the same problem. We need true broadband internet access for phones.
