Cole-Haan Chelsea or alternative?

Hi there, new to the forum and learning a lot. I'm interested in buying black ankle boots in the sleek style of the Cole-Haan Lucarno, though I'd like to spend under $300. I'd figured on waiting till the Lucarno goes on sale, but I see that brand comes in for some grief on this forum. Any suggestions? I see RM Williams mentioned but I'm hesitant to pay a large shipping fee on a shoe that might not fit. At least I know the 9.5 in C-H fits. I'm in L.A. Thanks!

I bet you can find RM Williams in a shop in LA.

It seems sleek and quality Chelsea boots are inevitably expensive

Thanks Monty, I did see that RM Williams listing from Shoe Mart on ebay but I thought the Turnout seemed a bit clunkier in the toe than the Craftsman so I held off. Does anyone know this model -- is that a fair assessment? I emailed them asking if the sizes listed were Australian or US; they are US sizes.
