For sizing, is it possible to send you measurements from our best fitting suits?

Yes it is, although it's not possible to enter those measurements on the website at the moment.

We can do it off process, simply contact us at customercare@lanieri.com (or skype, facebook, whatsapp: https://www.lanieri.com/en/contacts) to let us guide you on which measurement to take.

Please be aware that even if we use the same measurements of your favourite suit or shirt, the end results may be slightly different, for three main reasons:

1. fabric will be different, so the feel of the suit will be different

2. tolerance: always consider, for most measurements, 1 cm of tolerance

3. model: our suits are made using a different technical model than yours, so minor difference are to be expected

Please let me know if you need further details

Best

Is there anything that accounts for the price changes? I see your welcome message says prices (for a 2 piece suit, at least) will not exceed $890, yet your site has quite a few going for $990.

Hi Eric,

sorry I've just saw this! Thank you for your question and to have raised this issue. Unfortunately we had to raise our prices on Loro Piana fabrics only, that were previously priced at 890 $. This change happened three weeks after my first post and it affects 7 fabrics by Loro Piana. I simply forgot to communicate the change on Styleforum. The prices on the rest of our assortment (more than 60 different fabrics from 7 different premium Italian woolmills) have remained the same.

Anyone like the transparency and communication of the Lanieri folks as opposed to, say, other Italian tailors who rose to SF prominence? Not that I'm thinking of any one in particular.

Well, thanks a lot. I don't know about other Italian tailors, but as far as I'm concerned, and considering that we are a start up company, full transparency is key for us.

MTM online is rather a new concept, especially in Italy/ Europe, and in my opinion it's not well understood. Frankly it is quite hard to communicate properly its value, its convenience and the differences between an off the rack suit then altered, or a full bespoke suit. In my experience, once a customer, or even a potential supplier, clearly understand the potential, a strong interest and passion usually appears

Today I was talking with a shirt maker in Bergamo (nearby Milan) that will probably become our supplier for a premium line of shirts that we are thinking to launch in the next few weeks. He is a funny young guy that inherit the business from his mother...and as I went on explaining all the different calculation that we perform to skip the usual one or two fittings (those advanced statistics classes back at engineering are finally useful!), there was a clear moment where he understood fully the concept, bursting in a big wide smile. That definetly made my day :-)

I'm really telling you guys, Lanieri, if I can go straight to your workshop or your trunk show area, I would without hesitations. In fact, if things go well, I would love it if you folks can organize overseas trunk shows.

we are seriously thinking about doing trunk shows... let say that I rent one of those super nice apartment on AirBnb, downtown San Francisco for example, we receive our customer by appointment during the day, and then every night the house is open for an italian aperitivo (prosecco and Parma ham like there's no tomorrow)... how many of styleforum readers would be interested? :-)

Hmm debating pulling the trigger on you guys. I have all my measurements made out. I really like the classic Navy Blue suit. So it's down to you guys, SuitSupply, and about to checkout Brooks Brothers in the next few days.

Choices, choices, choices.....

Hi Richard, well both SuitSupply and Brooks Brothers are great brands, but I'm pretty sure their manufacture it's nowhere near Italy :-)

However, you can't be wrong with the Classic Navy Blue Suit, fabric is from Vitale Barbersi Canonico and it's one of those tone of blue that works in every occasion... let me know if you have any question on it.

Ciao

Riccardo

Buongiorno Riccardo,
I was wondering whether the 3D scanning machine was in function (you mentioned it in your first post) because I might come to Milan for the expo!
Francesco
P.S. I greeted you with a "buongiorno" because I suppose you'll read it tomorrow but if that is not the case I shall greet you with a simple "Ciao"
