Looking for something like Yank Sing (in San Francisco), but I am open to any suggestions... : )

Thx!

It's not dim sum, per se, but Joe's Shanghai on Mott St. in Chinatown has AWESOME Xiao Loong Bao, Scallion Pancakes, and some other dim-sum-esque plates. I can't spend a weekend in NYC without stopping in. Last time I was there, I saw Mike Meyers....so consider it celebrity-endorsed.

OK, thanks ChicagoRon, it is already on my list... : ) Speaking of Shanghai cuisine, anyone tried Green Bo, also in Chinatown?

I swear by Mandarin Court on Mott just below Canal. Not too big, not too small...and they actually are quite welcoming to outsiders. Their Scallion Sumplings and Salt and Pepper Shrimp (replete with head) are amongst the best dishes I have tried anywhere.

Are you open to going to Flushing? The dim sum in Flushing is far superior to that in Manhattan Chinatown, imo. Have tried New Green Bo; was not impressed at all. For Shanghainese, I prefer Shanghai Cafe (100 Mott St). I also prefer their xiao long bao to that of Joe's.

Thanks cchen... : ) I am open, but I think I will have no time to go to Flushing this time. What is a good place there? Thanks for the info on Green Bo, some of my friends who lived in NYC recommended it, but it might have been Old Green Bo... It looks like most places are on Mott, I might try them all... : )
