What's your watch-to-wrist size ratio? - Page 3

Wrist size: 6"
Watch size: 44mm Panerai

Like Ambulance Chaser said, it all depends on how the lugs are.

Also, now that I've had this watch for 2 years, anything smaller looks absolutely TINY on my (albeit also tiny) wrist.

I think all you big-watch people have simply been snookered. People in bell-bottoms also convinced themselves at one point that the look was good or normal. I can't imagine Panerai on a 6" wrist looking anything other than monstrous.

Second the point about dial/bezel ratio. I have 6.75 wrists and have steadily moved up in watch size, from 36mm to around 40mm these days. But there are 40mms and 40mms. A thin bezel makes the face look huge. A thick bezel has the opposite effect. Lug shape also matters. I have a 40mm Girard Perregaux traveller 2 that's 40mm and looks far smaller than my 41mm IWC Portugueser. I thought that that Portugueser - my favorite watch - was at the far extreme of what I could wear, until I saw an Oris Worldtime (the new model) that, though 42mm, looks smaller than than IWC. In the end you try it on and see what's what. That's the only real rule.
