LeatherSoul may need to confirm,

but what i gather is that most Alden lasts run pretty much true to size, some being a little fraction longer than others.

Only last you need to downsize in is the Barrie last which is all around huge.

That being said, you can err a bit on the sizing of boots . a little larger than what you normally wear in dress shoes you can wear in boots as boots take up that difference and makes it negligible.
error in small direction and you cannot put on the boot.

also please note, shell cordovan must fit comfortable from first try on.
you cannot break them in wearing a tighter/too snug fit to loosen. they are not like calf.

To be honest, that's one last I've never seen or tried on in person. From pictures I've seen they look to be true to size. I'm sure someone else can confirm. Sorry!

Not sure if it is too late to help you, but in my experience, the Grant last seems to be true to size in terms of length. Width, I found it to be slightly narrow in the toe box. (So I'm waiting on a pair of 4060's in 9E from the NYC store.)

I think they run true.

So if you wear 10.5 E, your size is there.

I'm actually an 11.5 E (11 E in the Barrie last).
My size used to be there in the burgundy boot.
I may still order the black shell high boot.
Many thanks regardless.
