Ladies Watches - Recommendations?

Hey fellas. I'll start by admitting my ignorance on watches. While I have a fondness for men's tailored clothing and shoes, I'm just not a watch guy. Hence my post.

3 weeks from now, my wife and I will be celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary. The past 1-2 years have been quite good to us, and I'd like to purchase a new watch for her. She has a relatively inexpensive one now, and while it's not bad, I think it's time for an upgrade.

Any recommendations on brand or style? Also, for NYC members, I welcome referrals to quality sellers, etc.

Thanks.

You can spend $500 an get a popular mass market Michelle watch that readers of People Magazine/US Weekly will love or you can go and get her something full of diamonds at Chopard for $50,000.

How much do you want to spend??

Without knowing more about your wife's tastes, I would recommend Bedat and Cartier.

I you're going to spend some cash you'll want to make sure it's something she likes, so get her input. That being said, I think Ebel makes a nice simple ladies watch....

You're right. Price range would help. I'd say I'm willing/able to spend about $1000 to $2000.

I've seen the ladies Ebel watches and agree with Romafan - they're simple and certainly nice to look at.

Hopefully, the price range will help to guide your feedback. Thanks much.

Me too, very well received by women from what I've seen.. And at 1-2k, selection is limited but doable if you go online.

At that price range, I'd say check out Cartier tank watch in stainless steel. Classic, classy, elegant, not too dainty.

For a bit more, check out Jaeger Le Coultre, say, with a lime green crocodile strap.

I agree with the Bedat and Cartier recommendations. For uniqueness, Bedat for run of the mill Ebel, and for classic Cartier Tank on leather strap. They make a quartz version which is around $1,900. My wife sports a Franck Muller Cintree Cuvee and a Cartier Pasha, so round and tonneau are both great shapes on a womans wrist.
