Hair styles for men?

I am about 6"1 and have a buzz-cut haricut with a 1' guard all around. I am wondering, though: Is such a style fashionable for a young 10-something professional (one who has never been in the military, no less).

From a standpoint of convenience, I like the style because it is easy to maintain; I haven't owned a hairbrush in three years. However, I hear conflicting opinions: Some say that short is stylish for a man, while others say grow it out.

Is it fine the way it is?

Find a haircut that compliments your face is my advice. My advice, find a celebrity with similiar face shape and a haircut you like.

short and buzz are two different things... trim short hair includes up to a few inches of hair in my books. I keep my hair "short" and neat for the same reason but the sides are an inch or two and the top is probably 2-3 inches. there's pretty much no maintenance on taht, of course it'll be more then the nothing you currently do with the buzz, but that's not really any sort of "haircut/style".

For whatever it's worth, I have been wearing my hair buzz-cut short for a few years now. Although it is short, I liked it that way especially traveling in NYC, and Europe. Recently I've been feeling that I want to let it grow out a bit longer where I need to brush it with something more than a towel. (maybe 2-3") I think longer hair for all ages is a trend that will continue for many years, just as very short hair did back in the 90's.

I always wanted the long hair look, which I also think is not a trend and is the changing hairstyle for men. But I wear a buzz cut well (have a face/head like brad pit but I don't look like him) and get complments when I wear it. But as I said I love the way the longer hair look is, but have yet to grow it out only to be driven crazy by it and shave it all off in a fit of insanity.

+1. Hair should only be thought of as an accessory for your face or head.

You can also take hair and grow it out just a little, and start to style it a bit: use some product--gel or wax, and push it forward from the crown of your head. Turn it into more of a 'Caesar' 'do. If you have a good head, it can look a lot more stylish than grass standing straight up there. You only need maybe 1.5 inches of hair to do this, perhaps a little more, but certainly nothing that would even be medium or moderate growth.

Haha, that's about where I am at the moment, contemplating going from moderately long hair to very short. There's a couple of things stopping me, 1 is im not sure if i'd look good with a buzz cut and you know once its done its done. 2nd is that I haven't had a decent hair cut in a while so I think that if I did I would be able to put up with the long hair if it looked half decent.

On that topic if anyone knows a great mens hair stylist in melbourne who could help a guy pretty clueless about hair let me know.
