Where can I try on Isaia suits and how much do they usually run?

Where do you live? In NYC, you can go to Barneys, Saks & Century 21. Retail is around $2300-2500 for suits.

Not sure where to really start. I guess read this and decide.

I've had extensive experience with both, own and wear both and I find corneliani to fit me a bit better. However I don't like how they run long. I'm only 5'10" and do like a shorter coat now, i find it more flattering. I'm not talking tom browne short but about a 1/4 in shorter than what corneliani runs. Also the prices run very similar. Corneliani a little cheaper because Canali has more of a name so they charge a bit more. Canali out sells Corneliani and has more "sex" appeal with celebrities in an marketing attempt to rival Zegna. Hope this helps.

Well I just got my Corneliani in the mail from yoox, I thought these were supposed to be slim... the tag read 48 4 C... Does that mean drop 4?.. because it sure seemed like it, this thing was a TENT... I think I would have to bring the waist in A LOT on the jacket to even have it fit half way decent...
it is going back to yoox... pants also came double pleated (unexpected) :|

Can someone please tell me what the "4" in 48 4 C is?

I have a few Canalis - 3 sports coats and a suit -- and find that the fit really varies by model. The suit and a tweed jacket both are 3 buttons that have a tad more padding in the shoulders than I like these days; the two other coats (one a 3 button; one a 2) both have softer shoulders and deeper drops and tend to fit me better.

I can't recall the body style #s, but I checked once and they were different. FWIW, all were bought on deep discount ...$300/jackets, $500/suit. Fabrics are quite nice and construction is solid - I think the "entry level full canvas" comment above is accurate - but at those prices the bang-for-the-buck ratio is pretty solid.

I wear em, but I tend to look for Isaia these days...

For canali's, model 12000 fit boxiest, 13000 is fitted, and 14000 is very fitted and most similar to the jackets on their website. The canali exclusive line has very nice fabrics, much better than regular canali and a lot of the corneliani. I have a exclusive sportscoat in 38, model 13000, that i'm going to put up for sale btw

Although I've never seen it, I'd have to assume you have a US 38S with a 4 inch drop? Looked at one of mine and it's "50 7 R" ... and it's a US 40R with a 7 inch drop.

i dont like corneliani's silhouette. i dont mind too much for canali's either but i prefer it over corneliani.

i love the fabrics used on canali exclusive. very decadent.

+1. I have one of the Canali exclusive and the fabric is out of this world ... as are the buttons.

How is the fabric quality on the shirts?

I much prefer Corneliani over Canali. I find Canali to not fit very well to my body shape, and the shoulders are usually far too wide.

Maybe it's an unwanted MTM piece?
