MTO G&G black captoe (hughes) 11E

I just got my made-to-order Gaziano & Girling shoes after 6 months of waiting. They are amazing, stunning, and beautiful! Much better than I anticipated! My problem is that they are on the border of being too small for me. They are a true 11E (same sizing as my Edward Greens, which are also a bit snug!) Anyway, I'm considering selling them and want to see if there is any interest on SF. If not, I'm happy to keep them!

Anyway I had them do their Hughes model, black leather, smart square last, all black sole, and a metal toe plate. The waist has a great fiddle to it with a really tight cut into the side (much better than the pictures I saw of their RTW models!). The heels are excellent as well, with a nice slope all around. I'm thinking $1,250 (would include shipping, mahogany shoe trees, box, sacks, polish). Honestly, I may not sell them even at this price, but if interested PM me and see if you catch me in the selling mood! Otherwise enjoy the pics!

PS. I do have an amazing pair of brown, wholecut, double hidden welt Brugnoli shoes (Italian company, but looks nearly identical to CJ Weymouth with no toe punching). Same story, Size 45 which is a bit snug, so I've only worn them 4 or 5 times in the past few years. They also have lasted shoe tree. Would sell for $400. I'll post them with pics if anyone is interested. (These really are a great deal, much better quality than mid range british shoes!)

FYI, if you're willing to hang on to them and visit G&G on their tour near you (you might have just missed them though), they will stretch out the shoes as appropriate. That was what Dean offered me.

I'm a little worried because Dean quoted a size on the smart square last that is 1/2 a size smaller than what I wear in EG on the 888, and the 888 is fairly snug as it is. But I hear conflicting reports whether G&G should be the same size as the 888 or 1/2 smaller, but I guess everyone's foot is different, and they do measure the foot.

Good luck, and i hope you don't decide to sell. The shoes are awesome.

Wouldn't mind seeing pictures of the Brugnolis.

if the Hughes are this beautiful , I cannot wait till I get mine!

I just ordered a Hughes in the soft square last, hopefully it is as beautiful as this here.

I got mine in heavily antiqued dark oak and without a medallion.

shoe, did you go see G&G on their latest tour?

no, i unfortunately was not informed of their whereabouts when they were in LA this past week.
me with no job and all, I would have been out to beverly hills in a flash and spent all day with them.

I called them while they are in NY right now and talked to Dean Girling over the phone for 20 minutes getting down my order.

He was very pleasant guy. However he did not seem to know what EG 606 last was.

He is going to get back to me on the sizing of the square soft with my order. I hope he will get them on the oak bark sole as I forgot to mention that.

Thanks for the info on stretching, I think I just missed Tony in the Bay area but I'll check again. Anyway, for those interested in the Brugnolis, here are some pics (sorry I'm so bad at these). They do have a slightly fiddled waist, but aren't cut tight on the sides due to the double welt. They have 3 brass nails in the toe for wear. The upper leath is spectacular and doesn't have a scuff anywhere. The trees are solid last-cut trees. They are a 45 European size. They fit very similar to an 11E Uk, which to me is slighty narrower than a 12D US (which is my true size).

11E UK. They are in between an 11.5-12D US, though I would recommend them for the 11.5US.

They truly are much better than I anticipated (and I expected a lot!). I was skeptical having seen pictures of the RTW prototypes, but these blow them away! You're shoes will be exceptional! My next order will be the this same U throat with a wingtip rather than captoe, no medallion, in burgunday! Do I have a problem? My wife thinks so!

Beautiful shoes, but I fear I would experience the same problem as you. My feet run to the wide side of 12D. Are those double soles?

They're my size and they're beautiful shoes, but they're...........black. I'll have to leave them for lawyerdad. Paging lawyerdad.....lawyerdad to the G&G's please.

They are double soles (which I love) and they would definately be too narrow for you! Thanks!
