iTunes Cleanup Program?

Does anyone know of a program that renames or corrects song titles? Album art would be a bonus. I have tried one and it relabled Dr. Dre/2Pac's Californa Dreamin to Travis Tritt's I am Dreamin of California. I am trying to clean my collection of 2500 songs.

Which one did you try? Did you try Tag & Rename?

Did you use the freeware or purchase? At this point I would pay to be able to have the library cleaned up and standardized. I also noticed a Journey song that became some NWA. (maybe the NWA was embellished, but it did rename a Journey song to something weird.)

I used the freeware but that was an earlier version a while ago - it worked OK. I've heard good things about fixtunes (http://www.fixtunes.com). You could download both free trials and see which one works better for you (and maybe purchase the full version)

i just go into itunes itself on my computer, right click on the song title and the information menu comes up and i make the necessary amendments there to the song title, the artist name, etc. and the artwork and even add lyrics if you want

then again, i've only had to correct a song title about a dozen times (and i have some 5,000 songs) but each time i've done it this way, it's always been corrected and i've had no problems

a bit time consuming to have to manually do it but it works for me

as for artwork, download whatever album artwork you want from either cut and paste from the internet or scanning it in and adding it under the artwork feature in the same area .....

This sounds like a good idea.
Some days I'll fire up and find a Chopin nocturne in on a RageATM play list, or similar. God knows what I've done to it....

You can do this with multiple songs at once by selecting all of them and hitting cmd-I; any changes you make in the resulting box will apply to all selected songs.

Anyone know why Itunes would stop synching? I'm experiencing this now when I plug the Ipod in through the USB, no synching happens. It does recharge.

Does the iPod appear on the left side? If so, you may want to check if the sync preferences have changed. Also, are you logged into iTunes as your self? Being logged as another user may change the sync preferences

ed, does itunes not recognise the ipod?

WHen i plug mine in, it recharges but the menu still remains on it, and the ipod doesnt appear in itunes anymore.

It started when they updated it and started notifying me about an update, dunno if thats what the problem is.

ed, Have you always used the USB? I recently read that depending on the generation, some will only recharge with USB but sync with Firewire, and some are the opposite. OP: I just read this article about a week ago: http://www.connectedinternet.co.uk/2...tags-and-more/ The author recommends MusicBrainz Tagger. I've just downloaded it, but have yet to use it.

The author recommends MusicBrainz Tagger. I've just downloaded it, but have yet to use it.

That is the tagger I orignally used, and it re-tagged some interesting stuff. I have been searching for another program for the Mac, but it seems there are not all that many. I am going to try fixtunes, but I have not been able to download it yet.

So you'd not recommend that, then?
