What's your favorite brand of shaving soap or cream? and why?

You mean I have to narrow it to one???

For creams, I like Cyril Salter's above all others. Then Proraso, Wars, and Art of Shaving.

For soaps, my go-to is The Gentleman's Quarter - I have maybe a dozen scents of her soaps and they all rock. Then there's L'Occitan Cade which I received just this week and it's a very nice soap.

Trumper's Rose soap. I'm also rotating T+H West Indian Lime cream, and Taylor's Lavender cream.

I actually like Kiss My Face shaving cream. Very moisturizing and lathers beautifully with a brush.

I have discovered that the Portuguese Musgo Real cream is very excellent.

I just went into the bathroom and checked. Edge gel. I thought it would be something by Gillette but that doesnt appear anywhere on the can. If a coupon comes our way for something else Im sure she will buy that. Current razors are CVS pharmacy "sensitive skin shavers". Im suspicious of this claim but it seems such a minor deception I let it drop. The package asks me to "compare to Bic Shaver" so I guess these are the necks the CVS guys think they are breathing down. 12 in a pack. I just started on #8 and will be with him for at least another shave, maybe two. I fully concede that with the aid of a jewelers loupe or an unusually sharp eye, my shave would be deemed inferior. Nevertheless, when the waiter returns with that little plate that holds the little wallet thing that holds the check for dinner, without hesitation,he walks right up to where Im sitting, no matter how many adult women are at the table.

Been using it for years. Nothing better, it's a favorite among straight razor users. Makes one of the best foams, and it smells great. And the price is very reasonable, especially in comparison to all the English (Trumper's, etc.) stuff.

I alternate with Proraso when I'm in the mood for mintiness.

But I always always use a badger hair brush. Hand application just doesn't do it for me.

Though I don't always do it, using a bit of pre-shave oil also really helps build up a dense foam.

DR Harris Lavender and Trumper's West Indian Limes

Aveeno Therapeutic Shave Gel (no scent added). I use a Gillette Fusion Power razor; it is one of those 5 blade (I think it is up to 5 now) razors that vibrates. It isn't a true electric razor; it's more of a gimmick.

Mama Bear for me too

I've converted my items into all natural/organics so that doesn't leave much. I'll go with Gentleman's Refinery. Great lather and not too strong of a scent.

I love Truefitt&Hill soap.

Taylor's of Old Bond Street and Jabon de Afeitar con Sales Termales by Manantiales de La Toja. They are both my favorites and use them intermittently. The quality of these shaving soaps is very good and it give me a good, close shave. They also last for a long time. Note: Use a good quality badger brush for these soaps.
