^I've actually seen them live as ZZ Top's support act one year ago. I agree, they are far better live.

I am listening to Iris ter Schiphorst's Adrogyn: Live. There doesn't appear to be a youtube, but here's a link to a sample:

New stuff from KEXP:

For people who have Spotify, I've been compiling a cool "Chill Out" playlist. It's a bunch of downbeat/triphop, electronica, reggae, jazz, brazilian music. It's long so it will probably get you through a couple of work days if you are into this kind of stuff (sounds good on headphones too)

Haven't checked out the Lanegan yet, but the Van Etten is a great performance.

Thanks for sharing, munch. Will definitely check it out.

I really enjoy a lot of the music I get introduced to -- or reminded of -- here. Thanks, and keep up the good work, meng.
I've had the two Benjamin Booker songs that are easily available on repeat all afternoon Such great energy.

A bit of a rougher edge, but I kind of like these guys, and it's great how much they clearly enjoy playing:

I'm probably giving up all my cool points here, but the new Weird Al is pretty great. Funny to think that I have been listening to him for 30 years now, and he still makes me laugh. Not to mention that my kid is as big a fan as I always was.

I saw his "Foil" aka "Royals". he has some wit!

Yeah "Foil" is great because the first verse you think "well that's kind of pointless" and then he kicks into the crazy stuff in the 2nd verse.

My 6 year old, due to the Luigi Death Stare video, was introduced to "Ridin' Dirty" from Chamilionaire and I showed him Weird Al's version "White and Nerdy" and he couldn't stop laughing. Unfortunately he goes around singing the chorus and I'm afraid he'll do it when he is around his friends. My 16 year old loves "Tacky" and the older Weird Al stuff like Eat It. Its really amazing when you think about Al's longevity and appeal.

The new Weird Al stuff is fun.
Coincidentally, he has a kid at my daughter's school. To Ed's point about his longevity, it's funny seeing him in that context, given that I was already seeing his videos when I was in high school in the 80's.
He seems like a very nice guy.
