What music are you listening to lately? - Page 566

Not sure if it is Mort Garson on vocals, but this is from a great OST for the movie of the same name, Didn't You Know

I haven't seen the movie and I can't find too much info, but a great score if you get a chance to hear it...

I'm reasonably sure that this is my favorite piano piece of all. (Yes, I know that is a strong claim.)

Just got Blue Jasmine soundtrack. Nice bluesy jazz. Typical Woody A material with a couple of poppy exceptions. Imagine WA needed some convincing to include such pap in his movie.

Also. John Zorn - At The Gates Of Paradise, and The Gift, which has some nice theremin work.

Been listening to a lot Mahler lately. Probably my favorite composer. Particularly the 1st and 3rd symphonies.

Also some Erik Satie, who I wasn't that familiar with before, and Claude Debussy. And some Wagner operas and quite a bit of Thelonious Monk and Keith Jarrett.

Katherine Young--"Patricia HIghsmith." There's a better version on Spotify, but this is the best one I could find to link to.

Two great Zorn albums in particular The Gift has some great surf rock moments. I went to a theremin performance at the ANU school of art a couple of weeks ago fascinating gig.
