can anyone do me a favor and tell me who some of these bands are and which ones are worth seeing? I know the obvious ones but there are a bunch I have no clue about. TIA

Iron & Wine

Dum Dum Girls

The Joy Formidable

Shabazz Palacas

Alabama Shakes kills live
Raveonettes are derivative but fun and they are pretty loud

New Order and Suede are old folks but they are worth seeing.

Other than that, sounds like a bunch of hipster crap that needs to get off of my lawn censored.gif

i'm actually looking forward to seeing the Shakes more than anyone else.

Man if I had the chance to see a few of those bands...Well, as was stated before, it all lies in your personal interests. Do you like Electronic? Rap? Indie rock, Alternative rock? I'm an indie rock, electronic guy myself, so here is who I'd like to see.

Dj Shadow (left-field hip-hop/ electronic), Modeselektor (high energy and upbeat- highly recommend), Iron & Wine (good romance, heartbreak/ sorrow, introspection stuff- highly recommend), Neon Indian (indie chillwave 80's throwback/ analog synths...great stuff), The Black Keys (good indie blues rock act), Araabmuzik (amazing electronic with heavy hip-hop influence, uses samples on an MPC and triggers said samples to maximum effect- highly recommend his music, not sure how his performances are), Shabazz Palaces( not your typical hip-hop act, pretty good imo), Freelance Whales (cheesy happy optimistic indie rock with unorthodox instrumentation).

These are who I would see, but again, you probably already have an idea of who you might want to check out yourself.

I've been in a Kinks mood lately. I've been listening to this one a lot this morning. I like to think of myself as a David Watts type.

Okay the following are the ones you are going to want to see based solely on hot female band members

. Cat Power- like a drunk Rashida Jones that just oozes sexymacjigger

. Sleigh Bells- personally I don't care for but if you are into the stereotypical looking hipster girl

. The Kills- schizophrenic-type hot

. Raveonettes- Nordic princess

. Dum Dum Girls- S&M/pin up girls

To be serious though definitely go see Die Antwood, regardless of what you may think of the music. Their shows are just outrageous

+1 Cat Power. The Kills have some nice songs. And +1 to most that are already on your list. If you feel like it, you may want to check out Major Lazer too.
