Always glad to find fans of Actress.

Yeah, that album is out of this world.

I feel his music is brilliant yet impossible to understand, at least in the sense as to how he would go about making it.

Frank Ocean - Channel Orange - Good but not as wonderful as people are making it out to be. Many of the lyrics are disjointed and they lack some good r&b flow. This one needs another listen.

Kimbra - Vows - Interesting album but the songs are ALL over the place. She has a very interesting vocal range and can really belt it out. Some of the rhythms though..

Michael Kiwanuka - Home Again - a REAL surprise. This is like being transported back to 70's R&B with the likes of Teddy P, Marvin, and Al. A really good album if you like that old style soul music.

Got a question for you music lovers - who's doing good reviews these days? Of all genre's. I can't stand Pitchfork but I'll look them over if I have to.

Also - I need a source for whole albums or whole sets of trance music for the gym. Something that I can download, not streaming.

Yeah I wasn't really feeling this. He has a pretty unremarkable voice by R & B standards, and his lyrics are really just some mopey, Drake-esque business. The hype might have killed it for me, but all it does is remind me that I haven't listened to D'Angelo in a while.

Frank Ocean's popularity might be owed to a marginal gentrification of the genre as a whole. Still, I think he's alright.
