I'm glad to see a rapper finally hop on tracks on people like Machinedrum and Ikonka, but for some reason alot of the stuff just didn't work. Hopefully this mixtape is just a warm up for greater things to come.
Anyone heard the new Azealia Banks mixtape?

Some good stuff on it, not all of its new. Tracks are kind of all over the place. IMO, she's not going to top that 212 track which was kind of a perfect storm.
Jack White - Blunderbuss - I really don't understand the love for this guy. Its the same 5 guitar chords in every song and listening to his voice is like listening to Beyonce trying to sing while getting fucked in the ass by a pile driver with a dildo on the end.
You're way off on this one. White sings like a hoarse Robert Plant, and his guitar work seems unsophisticated but its far from the truth. He's at times a minimalist, at times any sound is fine, he even played with a plastic guitar. And he didnt want Meg White to ever practice, he wanted her drumming to be childlike.
Although I do relate to a degree, first few times I listened I thought it was shit too, but underneath it is some quality musicianship.
A couple of examples:
Listen to the stall at 1:56, pure gold.
And this is blues of the highest order (he is doing that on a plastic guitar):
New album from Sun Kil Moon, Among the Leaves. Very typical Mark Kozalek work, with plaintive vocals and plenty of nylon string guitar. won't disappoint SKM fans.
Normally I never listen to mid 90s britpop... but...
Parklife by Blur.
Only because a Mongolian student was asking me what the hell it's about. How to explain "It's got nothing to do with your Vorsprung durch Technik, you know"? Edited by MikeDT - 7/16/12 at 3:38am
