also if you're digging Returnal, check out the new Emeralds album, "Does It Look Like I'm Here?" it's a very strong album. but i guess if you know about Oneohtrix Point Never you probably know about emeralds already.

yes i learned about emeralds last year and liked their album, i think it was called what happened? i didn't realize they had a new one.

also, i havent really listened to rifts, even though ive had it for a while on my computer. i think its just the daunting 2 and a half hour run time thats keeping me away from it. i liked this new album, is rifts basically the same as the tracks after the first one? the first track was good and maybe he shouldve gone in that direction for the whole album if his older stuff is more like the rest.

Of more interest: you are one of the few persons I have come across who appear to have read the Danish novel "Lucca". A brilliant book!

oh, the new emeralds is called "does it look like i'm here?" and they had another one that sounded similar that was self titled, it was released in jan. 09 i think. both are awesome.

Rifts is a compilation of a bunch of tape and vinyl releases so it would probably be better to just listen to it piece by piece, not as a huge block. he does a lot of retro(futuristic) synth work on Rifts, and a lot of it is really similar to what he does on Returnal. At this point it seems like he has a really limited amount of synth sounds he uses, but they all sound cool.

You'd be mistaken. I've read about three books in my life and two didn't have words. But I'm really curious as to what you made you think that. Enough so that my fourth book should probably be this one.

It was just a guess. Your choice of that Gerhard Richter painting as your avatar made me think that you may have got the inspiration from that excellent book. If you have only read one book with words in your life, I am not sure what you would think. I read this book around Christmas 2002 on a beautiful beach in Koh Samui, Thailand, and it left a strong impression.

Mine as well- listened to Last in Line and Holy Diver albums yesterday on the mp3. Had Heaven and Hell on the morning commute which, coincidentally, describes said commute.
