What music are you listening to lately? - Page 675

Orion is one of my favorite songs. Love Metallica's early albums. After Justice, Metallica went with Bob Rock, and decided to take their music in a different direction, and were unfairly crucified for it. Thought Load, and Reload were okay. Don't understand how people expect a band not to evolve a bit after some years, and just keep pumping out the same shit decade after decade. Assholes will claim that they were being selfish for "selling out", but yet they ain't selfish for just wanting them to keep making the same music, and keeping them from having the right to do whatever the fuck they want with their music.

That shit is hilarious though (obviously unintentionally). He says it started with playing with Ozzy. Yeah man, blame it on Ozzy. happy.gif

I don´t like the crab dance either. Apart from that, they are not that great live band that they used to be, and I think is mainly because of Lars. If yoy compare their shows in the last decade with any concert untill 2000, you will see the difference in their performance. Specially any tour untill the black album tour, including that one. They were a fantastic band in concert

Not to talk about the records, I can understand musical evolution, I Don´t think they have released a proper record since the black album

I'd still go see them again but I'd really like it to be in a place with some atmosphere to it. Here's a clip from the Nimes concert and I would have loved to have been in this audience. The setting can make the concert sometimes.

Crab walk.

Here's a website: http://promodj.com/

Free registration and I've downloaded quite a few DJ sets. I'm listening to Wind of Buri right now, a 1.5 hour set he put together of the group Solar Fields. I'll put another plug in for Sonos again too. We have three Sonos Connect Amps (powers in ceiling speakers) and one Connect (streams to our home theatre). I have these mp3s on our NAS and am streaming it directly from there.

FWIW I found this DJ while streaming TunedIn Radio through the system. It's really a great time for music right now.

The Shoe? Damn, have not thought about that place in at least two decades. Think last time I was there was spring of 90 or 91 and I remember seeing The Hip just before they got huge. I have to say GTA has/had some awesome venues. Lee's Palace, The Opera House...no doubt tons of new places in the intervening 25 years.

Last week I listened to The Kingston Trio- the reunion concert DVD.  There was a time when.............., but that music has not aged well.  Times have really changed.

Cheers,

I am still in the Megadeth mood, I am sort of discovering the band now, I never paid any attention in the past to Megadeth. They are good, different than Metallica, the first 4 albums are great, I am not sure about the rest. Anyway, I will close soon this heavy metal mood. I prefer classic rock in general.
