Best Henley? - Page 4

I am looking for a henley like the one you get in Jack Wills but i dont want to pay Jack Wills expensive price tag. Do you think this type of top would pass for a henley long sleeve t shirt? Apart from the fact this is a y neck and the jack wills henley is a round neck!

This is the original look im after.

What is the definition of a henley?

Anymore? I cant still cant find any brands that make plain, v-neck henleys, preferably in cream (none of that vertical stripe bullshit or bright colors)

Does it need to be v neck? I saw some crew neck cream ones in UNi Glo today.

yea, has to be v-neck =\\. I don't like others much because they don't look like henleys (whatever a henley is, I guess I have a diff definition in mind). When was the henley first created? 1850s? Wasn't it suppose to be a commoner's shirt / work shirt or something, and they didn't have buttons on henleys back then, or did they?

^^ this is supposedly "civil war style" http://www.armynavydeals.com/asp/pro...SKU=MU116&ST=2

That civil war one looks ok. What are the best coloured henleys? Or are the most traditional coloured ones?
But the civil war one looks like thermals.

For some reason, henleys only seem right to me in greys/earthtones.

+1. Though aeglus had a fit a while back with a short-sleeve red one with ribbed cuffs. looked quite good.

Earth tones do you mean brown, white etc.

Taupe, olive green, etc. Maybe an eggplant purple would look good as well. In any case, no fruity girly colors.

I think I'm going to start another henley thread.
