I agree that darker leather would be better for #5, ebony latigo looks like a nice fit. I'm likely to get both the #5 and either #6 or #13. Now I just have to try to get the funds together...

The last unsolved question remaining is: should we get speed hooks or not? I'm personally in favour of it, but it appears to be a 50/50 split. Although, from what I understood, this is not a deal-breaker in any case.

Yeah, we should resolve this. I'm not too keen on them. Come on people! Voice your thoughts!

I don't find the speed hooks terribly useful, and they can shred pants. Still, it's not a deal breaker for me either way. I vote no but defer to the group's consensus.

rivets, speed hooks etc these details will be the symbols for the custom viberg boot, unlike the others from vibeg site and stockist, make the boot more personalized.

whatever it takes, I'm in for #13

Still in for #11. Would like a partially structured toe. 2030 or 1035.

Currently still in the running (I killed the derbies. There seems to be zero momentum behind them):

1. The "Echo Boot" by @Synthese

MISC: Pull Tab
Comments: plain toe, unstructured

***3. The Mocha Roughout Service Boot
Model: Service boot

********5. The "Half-Japanese" by @linafelt - inspired by sample boot/Japan-style oxfords.
Model: old style work oxford
Last: 110
Leather: Ebony Latigo
Leather (tongue): er, something even darker maybe
Eyelets: 5 antique brass
Sole: rubber heel and half sole (Cat's Paw, or Vibram)
Comments: structured toe, plaintoe, natural edge, notice external heel counter different from the derby shoes -- this shoe rocks.

Last: 2030
Leather: Olive Calf
Leather (tongue): brown
Eyelets: 8 brass eyelet
Sole: Dainite
Comments: captoe, partially structured, brown midsole oiled (like wings and horns)
The leather is somewhat dark, rich and complex. Rather than the contrasting, natural midsole, I opted for a tone on tone look. 8 brass eyelets rather than 7 because its a finer leather than cxl or latigo.

Last: 310 w turned up toe
Leather: Dark Olive
Leather (tongue): Black CXL
Eyelets: 6 gunmetal
Sole: Dainite

21. Model: Country Derby boot

People wanting something on the 310 last, get some consensus on the leather, please. I have one spot open for that. out of the top 7.

Remember that we are not going to make all 7, either. It will come down to the vote, so tell all your friends to get their $730 or so ready. (That is just a guess based on previous estimates. I have no exact numbers for any of these makeups yet.

Cheers,

Fok.

#18 is fantastic. Not sure what that upturned toe entails in terms of break in and everyday walking.

#8 is very nice as well.

In for the #2 HOF Bison and #23. Let's get another round of acclaim for the Bison boot - we should tap Viberg out on that leather.
