Heh, try telling that to the people who subscribe and subsequently beat me over the head with their rolled-up copies of CR as they tell me I will regret my purchase later.

It sucks! I prefer my Miele (or my cleaning woman does at least), as mentioned above the Dyson almost has to much power and was told that for cleaning area rugs, the Miele was better

Might want to check out some other manufacturers like Hoover. They have a similar cyclonic cleaning system to Dyson at a fraction of the price.

The first time I used a Dyson I was surprised there was so much dust on the carpet. If you're going to buy a vacuum I say get a Dyson.

i like the oreck my family has. it's extremely light, but has NO attachments. the canister vac and hose isn't very powerful though.

You still get a huge cloud of dust.

No, you don't. Not to be needlessly graphic, but if you know how to pull off a condom without spilling everywhere, you have all the skill you need to keep the dust in the bag.

I haven't tried it with a condom, but a plastic grocery bag works. Just put it on the end of the canister, discharge the contents into the bag and close canister. Pull out from bag, tie the bag, and dispose.

I've had a reconditioned DC14 for about a year now (definitely not 'new' condition but 8/10 from Amazon). It's definitely the best vacuum I've ever used. I agree with the other person who said it's almost too strong, if you come within a few inches of a curtain while using an attachment, for example, it will try to devour the curtain.

Is it worth the money? I'd say if you have a lot of thick carpet, absolutely.

Dyson used to be listed all the time but hasn't been recently. The last 3 (at least) coupons that I've received have said nothing about Dyson.

I'm returning that one unopened.

Love my Dyson. Best damn vacuum cleaner I've ever owned. Easy to use. Easy to empty. Switching between using it in upright mode vs. the suction tube is a breeze. I haven't tried another brand that does these things better.
