Electric Razor - Page 2

I recently bought a straight razor, wiscogooner. If you have the patience to learn how to strop well (or alternatively get one with disposable blades, but that sort of defeats the purpose), go for it, because they do look classy and allegedly cut down on razor burn. I got frustrated with it quite quickly though, and am now back to a regular razor. I can't use electric shavers because my facial hair is too thick. That's right, I am too much of a man to use an electric.

Two words: Safety Razor. You get a good shave without risking your neck. If you want further info on this check out the Badger and Blade website. I've never liked electric razors. I can't seem to get a good shave from them.

Safety razors are great, especially if you have thick hair and or get irritation/burn after using Mach3 or whatever repalceable ones. Takes longer to get the knack of though and not something that can be rushed in the morning. theartofmanliness .com I think has a few great articles on it.

Generalize much? Rotary electric razors, such as Norelco, do a great job of shaving the neck. It is the foil type, like Braun, that are typically poor performers on the neck, although that is changing.

I must be a weirdo because I use both. I give my face a really quick once-over with the electric before hopping into the shower and then use a blade after the shower.

I've used both independently in the past. Electrics never really give me a good shave and blades always irritate my skin. Using the electric first really cuts down on the amount of passes I have to make with the blade, and the blade really cleans up the little spots the electric leaves behind. Since I started doing this, I've had far less skin irritation than when using the blade alone.

I had such a thing. Fun toy but useless as transportation.
