Shirt Buttons

In my year-long quest for the perfect shirt buttons, I have recent found what I think is the most perfect Australian MOP. Buttons on RTW shirt makers that I admire most are Borrelli and Zegna Napoli Couture, and I have long wondered where they source their buttons from. I have recent acquired a limited supply of Autstralian MOP that are 99.9% if not 100% identical to the Borrelli buttons (and Zegna might have the same source too only have them punch three holes instead of four). Here are the pictures.

I have only two sizes:
16L - 1cm diameter, 4mm thick, for shirt front and cuffs;
14L - 8mm diameter, 3.5mm thick, for sleeve placketts and button-downs.

Colour is natural pearl white, simply stunning. I have, in the past, source from Japan and other places, but none as beautiful as these. I am using them for my Ascot Chang shirts here in Hong Kong now.

Price: US$1.50 regardless of size. For a button-cuff dress shirt, you will need 9 16Ls and 2 14Ls (total $16.50). For price comparison, Alex Kabbaz is selling Australian MOP at $2.75 per each 3.2mm button; for a button-cuff dress shirt, you will spend $30.25 for buttons alone (and they are 3.2mm instead of 4mm).

I do not impose a minimum order. You can order as little as 1 button as sample, or 10 shirts' worth of buttons. S&H anywhere in the world is $3 to $7 sent by registered airmail (mostly $3 to $4 unless in large quantity).

Delivery starts October 10 (as I'll be traveling these two weeks). All orders received before October 6 will receive a further 5% off. Supplies limited.

This is luxury at its finest. Please PM me for more information.

Thanks for all the responses.

I accept payment via Paypal, and postage usually takes about a week.

They look reaaaaalll nice. I'd hate myself if I lose some of these buttons though.

Always have a spare one ready. I have a spare one sewn on the shirt tail, just in case a button fell off when I travel.

Here is a comparison with Zegna Napoli Couture buttons, which I rate highly. Unfortunately, Zegna no longer uses these buttons, due to the higher cost. For those who still have shirts from this old pretigious line, save the buttons!

From the pictures, it seems that the Zegna NC buttons have less shine and lustre compared to the Australian MOP that I have. In real life, the difference is small, though noticeable. The Zegna NC buttons have no ridge, which makes a perfectly smooth surface with only a slight concave - this is what I like (I dislike buttons with a thick ridge). My buttons have a very, very thin ridge followed by a similarly smooth concave surface.

Finally got home; spent a few speechless minutes just looking at the bag of beautiful pearl-white buttons.

All orders posting out today. Anyone else ordering? I'll be listing these on eBay at a slightly higher price.

I take order of any quantity. You don't have to order in "sets". I just counted the number of buttons needed in a regular dress shirt. In fact, it's always good to have a spare button sewn on the shirt tail just in case.

Keep the orders coming guys. The buttons are beautiful and I don't have an unlimited supply of them... as someone (on this board, in Hong Kong and had seen them) just took over 600 buttons.

All the previous orders are shipped.

One last call for orders before I list them up on eBay for slightly more.

Pictures don't do these buttons justice. Get them before they're gone.

Thanks for prompt shipping, Naturlaut.

Thank you Tsoda, gl, and letme. Glad you like them.
I'm bringing mine to Ascot Chang for some new shirts this week. I can finally have beautiful natural pearl white buttons for white shirts...

Just posted on eBay at $1.70 a pop.
New price for SF members: $1.60 per button. (Not much a difference for most of you, but a big diff for a poor starving artist...)

Supplies do run out. Just shipped out over 100 buttons to a Singapore buyer.
