Hi All,

I need to get some new undershirts for wearing under my dress shirts. Prefer Vnecks. Need long shirt tails please, as my current undershirts are pulling out of my waist. 100% cotton or cotton/lycra blends ok.

Have heard that 2xist is good in this arena, also American Apparel.

Need these to be as cheap as possible but with good quality.

Please mention online sources.

thanks.

Try Brooks Brothers. Their higher end mercerized cotton tees are pretty good (available online).

Tuck the undershirt into your underwear. That waistband will hold it better.

Does anyone recommend a brand of undershirt with a lower v-neck? They all seem to be show under my open collar shirts.

From a recommendation in a thread on AskAndy, try the Merona brand undershirts at Target. I'm pretty sure they have a v-neck version. They certainly have long tails. I recently purchased a pack and have been quite pleased. They're 3 for $9.99. In the recent Target thread here (I think) someone said the Target shirts were done by the same company that does 2(x)ist. I don't know if that's true. At $10 you can hardly go wrong in giving them a try.

Try Marshalls or TJ Maxx.

I was there today, and picked up a pack by Jockey.

Their price is $12 for 3 shirts, retail price is $21.

The cotton is very nice - soft, with good stretch.  Black, white, and gray are the colors they carry.  They also come in either crew or V necks.  I wear these shirts more with jeans than as under shirts - they look so nice, and fit me perfectly.

Finally, they had both 'regular' and 'tall' sizes.  You might want to try the tall, as it would probably stay tucked in better.

All my basic undershirts are made by Jockey, and are very comfortable and reasonable for the price (3 for $15 or so). It might be harder to find V-Necks, but you should be able to get a pair on sale at TJ Maxx/Marshall's or a mid-range department store like Macy's or Lord and Taylor.
