I hang ties on the shoulders of jackets and will often stuff the squares into the pocket. Shirts, pants, and shoes get mental notes.

I make plans for what I'm wearing the entire week on Sunday (sometimes including pocket squares, sometimes not). It's a really enjoyable exercise done over a beer.

Thats hilarious. For me, in a good way.

I usually decide what I am going to wear in the shower, either the night before or that morning. Sometimes though if a particular combination comes to mind I will make a mental note for use later in the week/month.

Subscribed to the thread - and I'll possibly take part.

I have one or two repp stripe ties given to me as gifts. Tbh, they always reminded me of public/prep school ties, and after being forced to wear one more or less every day during my formative years I have - maybe subconsciously - avoided them. Perhaps now it's time I started to wear a few more tasteful examples.

I never thought anything about rep striped ties until met a bunch of commonwealth people. They get freaky sensitive about those things. Apparently for them they signify regimental, educational, or organizational affiliation.

I'm impressed by those who plan a whole week at a time.

I lay out everything for the next day before I go to bed, but that's it. And it has nothing to do with being organized. It has to do with knowing that I shouldn't make important decisions in the morning before I've had several cups of black coffee ...

Cheers,

Ac

Amazed by all this planning. I decide what I'm going to wear about five minutes before I'm due to leave the apartment for work.

I normally lay out my clothes the night before (and very much out of habit - I lived for many years in a one-bedroom apartment with a retiree who lived his life "on Zsa-Zsa time" i.e. getting out of bed late, and going to bed late - crawling around in the dark looking for something to wear was not an option). It is only if I have a specific social engagement for which I want to wear a certain suit that I would plan my attire more than one day ahead.

Frequently I decide at the very last minute whether I have enough time to get dressed for work before dropping the kids at school. On those days, the likelihood for regret is high.

Tie is Drake's. Looks like wool but in fact it's 100% silk.
