@RogerP if you're into Bonafé you might want to try out Suportlo leather. Similar to CXL (from what I've heard and seen, haven't owned). Tough to find CXL in dress boots outside of Alden.

Justin Fitzpatrik offered a CXL dress boot last season, but yeah, they are few and far between.  I figured I would probably have to go with Bonafe or Vass.  A Carmina 80092 bal boot in brown CXL on the Robert last would be perfect, but their MTO prices are freaking ridiculous.

I tried to organize gmto for Bonafe supportlo leather boots but there was no interest.

Does anyone have a pic of a boot made up in this Supportlo stuff?

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Not only do I love these boots, but I was looking at them on the RM Williams website and Mr. Porter last night (without having seen this) and almost pulled the trigger.  How would say the comfort is on these?  I might get them as a travel pair but would need to be able to walk quite a lot on them.  TIA.

I am shocked that people are talking about boots and haven't even considered Timberlands?

Thanks.  Can't say I prefer it to CXL judging from those pics, though.  I'll have to investigate whether Vass works with CXL - never seem to see it on their boots.

It appears from these pictures at least that the leather might yield a higher sheen, but is it as foul weather friendly as CXL?

CXL can take on a pretty decent sheen:

I guess I never tried, but then again most of mine are more for casual wear anyway.

These JF boots are more along the lines of what I have in mind - though ideally I'd want a bal boot.
